As a leading political reporter, Anne Michaud covered Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign, Anthony Weiner's 2005 mayoral bid and Eliot Spitzer's rise and fall as New York's governor from 2006 to 2008. Few folks have had the front row seat to the spectacular fall from grace of these politicians and the women who endured the cataclysm with them.

Anne found some interesting correlations between all of them and Elizabeth Woodville, the "White Queen" of English history. A widow, she married Edward IV for love, endured his promiscuity to stay and wield power, and ultimately, outlasted him to build the Tudor legacy through engineering her daughter's marriage to Edward's successor.
Anne looked at 5 factors in her books--how deeply are these women committed to being the family emotional caretaker, how patriarchal values drive their actions, how motivated are they about building a family legacy, the degree of which financial and emotional security drives their actions, and do they have a sense of patriotism that inspires them to overlook the misdeeds of their husband for the greater good. She assigned each a "White Queen Quotient" measured against Woodville's iconic role as the ultimate political spouse in the face of scandalous male behavior.
While we as spectators can only speculate about what drives them, Why They Stay makes a great case for what causes each of these women to play out their roles as stay-beyond-the-embarrassment wives. Currently Nancy serves on the Westminster Historical Society Board, Chair of the CSU Extension Advisory Board in Jefferson County, Alumni member of the Police and Fire Citizens Academy, Westy Cares facilitator and RTD Citizen Advisory Committee.
She is also the small business owner of Made and Created.
Nancy was elected to Westminster city council in 2001. She assumed the role of Mayor in 2004 and was elected to fill two more terms.

Dr. Wellner began her career as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai Hospital. She went on to serve as an Attending Physician at The Beth Israel Medical Center. In 2009, after being appointed to be the Director of Breast Services at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Dr. Wellner continued her mission to provide exceptional healthcare and she developed the center into a satellite of the NAPBC-accredited Continuum Cancer Centers of New York.
In 2015, after serving on the surgical faculty at Hackensack University Medical Center, she accepted the position of Senior Breast Surgeon at Montefiore Medical Center. At that time, Dr. Wellner had established a stellar reputation and was at the forefront of cancer medicine. As the Senior Breast Surgeon, she saw patients immediately after they had been diagnosed with breast cancer to develop an aggressive and comprehensive treatment plan with them.

Guided by her philosophy that everyone deserves quality healthcare regardless of socioeconomic states, Dr. Wellner has founded several medical programs around the developing world, including an international training program for Surgical Residents. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew, she has worked abroad in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, India, and other areas. She was also a delegate member of Susan G. Koeman’s first Israeli Race for the Cure Program in Jerusalem. In addition to her international humanitarian work, Dr. Wellner served as project coordinator in collaboration with WPIX 11 for the Project Renewal ScanVan, the country's first mobile mammography and radiology clinic for homeless and uninsured adults. ScanVan provides clinical breast exams, mammograms, tuberculosis tests, and health education to homeless and low-income men and women throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City.
Awards & Education
Dr. Wellner has received numerous accolades and awards for her global humanitarian work and professional accomplishments. Notably, in 2008, she received The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and The University of Connecticut Health Center Auxiliary Award in recognition of clinical and academic excellence. She recently won the Founder’s Award from Latina SHARE, a group she has worked extensively with to provide breast education and resources to Hispanic women.
Dr. Wellner is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), the American Society of Breast Surgery (ASBS), as well as the American College of Surgeons (ACS). She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr. Wellner earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature from Dartmouth College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to attain her MD from The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and later, her Masters of Public Health from the Joseph L. Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, where she also published a textbook, “Aging, Heart Disease, and Its Management” along with other publications. She completed her Internship in General Surgery and her Residency in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and she went on to her Fellowship in Breast Surgery at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California. She has maintained academic scholarship and clinical research work throughout her career.

Dick Wadhams was born on August 26, 1955, the fifth of six children who grew up tending the family’s Las Animas farm, mostly sugar beets and livestock. Dad was a Republican; Mom was a New Deal Democrat until motherly pride in Dick’s career choice coaxed her to switch sides.
Wadhams financed his college years by working in a mortuary, so by the time he entered politics, making stiffs seem lifelike had become a well-honed skill. He attended two community colleges before earning his political science degree from the University of Southern Colorado (now CSU-Pueblo) and distinguished himself as a small-government iconoclast in the post-Watergate ’70s. He’s a cultural conservative and casually devout Catholic who doesn’t use issues like abortion or gay marriage as a litmus test for who he’ll represent. “I had no apologies for Nixon, but I’ve always felt Republicans believe in the freedom of living their lives without a lot of government, economically and every other way,” he says. His youthful devotion to conservatism led Bent County officials to offer him their GOP chairmanship when he was 19, primarily, he says, because “nobody else wanted to do it.”

Fibular Hemimelia explained
Fibular Hemimelia is a partial or total absence of the fibula and is the most common form of lower limb deficiency present at birth. There are two long bones in lower leg, the thicker one is called the tibia and the thinner one is the fibula. With Fibular Hemimelia the tibia is shorter than normal and the fibula is missing or underdeveloped. A leg affected by Fibular Hemimelia will look shorter than an unaffected leg. The tibia may be bent and the foot may also be smaller than normal, bent outwards at the ankle and may have fewer than five toes. The knee is often also misshapen and may move abnormally.
Usually only one leg is affected, with the right fibula affected more often than the left and males are 50% more likely to be affected than females.

Combat veteran - Ron served in the military throughout the world and across the United States. He purchased land in Colorado in 2007 with the intent to retire and explore the Mountain West from the center of it all. Out-of-control government forced him back into public service.

Ron retired from the U.S. Air Force at the end of 2017 after more than 32 years of active and reserve service, serving as an enlisted man and as a commissioned officer. He worked as a linguist in Desert Storm and during multiple operations, including Northern Watch, Southern Watch, and Earnest Will. During the Global War on Terror, Ron served as an intelligence officer, performing duties in Iraq, Kuwait, and United Arab Emirates.

Ron served in several other capacities during his career, to include as a treaty escort for foreign inspectors from Russia and other countries, as a counterdrug officer in Kazakhstan working to stop the flow of drugs out of Afghanistan that funded the Taliban and Al Qaeda, and as a badged, credentialed counterintelligence agent.
When not deployed or in uniform, Ron worked in the oilfields of North Dakota, witnessing first-hand the benefits of American energy independence, the merits of hydraulic fracturing, and the spirit and know-how of blue-collar America.
