Hard to believe that after all of these years doing "Insight Out--the Naked Truth," (5 and counting) we've never featured the phrase, "That's Insightful." Well, guess what tonight's phrase of the week is. "That's Insightful."
So what exactly is an insight? "The capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing." according to one dictionary definition.
Boy, you'd think insights would be more popular and sought after. If you have an accurate insight you're "armed," to affect any situation to which that insight can be applied. Hmmm.... That's insightful.
According the Cambridge dictionary, insight is a a clear, deep, and sometimes sudden understanding of a complicated problem or situation, or the ability to have such and understanding.
As a society we certainly have a large array of complicated problems. Now, while that may not seem particularly insightful (more in the obvious category), it would seem like we'd be highly motivated to gain some insights. We sure could use some!!!
So how do we gain insight? Well...listening to this program is one humble approach. But what are the others?
This morning we'll take a look at the phenomenon of insights and see what insights we come up with to develop useful and relevant........insights. We'll use humor, music, improv and surprises to help us break free from the predictable and expected, so that those new insights can emerge.
