Radio Toni A Conversation with Kez with Kez Wickham St George

Today’s guest is Susu Smitz

Susu Smitzh was born and grew up in South Asia, now living in Sydney, Australia. She is married and a mother of a daughter. She likes drawing, sudoku, watching documentaries, cooking, and 50% discounts. This is her very first book.

Don't Do It, She Likes It

If you read this, this is a story about you, written by you, from you, and for you. As we know social media has changed the world, it is not just part of your life but it is your life. Social media motto: do not judge, lest be judged with photoshopped and filtered photoshopped photos.

Social media is so powerful, it can turn nice guys into thugs, strangers into lovers, and your milkman into a lover (and vice versa).

What you post there is limitless – duck face selfies, possum face selfies, egg holder mouth selfies (all photoshopped). The limits are your internet connection and if your partner finds out your passwords (are you in a cold sweat now?)

Come and discover the good, the bad, and the funny side of social media – where you can see what everyone’s bathroom looks like…

Kez - Let's start at the beginning Susu, and talk about your journey up to this point in time. What can you tell the audience about you and why you decided to write a book?

Toni – Can you tell me about your creative process? I find it fascinating those writers of all genres approach their writing in different ways.

Kez – How did you go about finding your publisher Austin Macauley? What was that process like?

Toni – Why write about social media?

Kez – Can you tell us one of the stories from the book? A funny one?

Toni – What do you see as the pitfalls of today’s social media?

Kez – Why do you think that social media brings out the worst in people?

Toni – There is a powerful good in social media as well, can you tell us some of those stories?

Kez - This is your first book, can you tell us about what it was like to write for the first time?

Toni – Do you think you will write more books and if so what would they be about?

Kez – the drawings that illustrate the cover of the book, are they yours and if so, is this the first time you have put your drawings in the public eye?

Toni – Can you tell me about your creative process? I find it fascinating those writers of all genres approach their writing in different ways.

Kez – What are you working on now and where can people buy your books/connect with you?

Kez is ever the storyteller and a popular speaker at many local events; However mentoring others to tell their stories has become a large part of Kez’s life, running creative writing workshops for those that have a story to tell.

Encouraging and mentoring others to follow their passion for writing has resulted in four of her writing protégés becoming published authors. Kez also invites published authors in fiction to contact her, as she enjoys introducing their work to Facebook and Instagram by video.
