James David Manning (born February 20, 1947)^[1] is chief pastor at the ATLAH World Missionary Church on 123rd Street in New York City. Manning grew up in Red Springs, North Carolina, born to an African American family, and has been at ATLAH since 1981. ATLAH stands for All The Land Anointed Holy, which is Manning's name for Harlem.^[2] His congregation, "ATLAH Worldwide Missionary Church" is the former Bethelite Missionary Baptist Church. The church is also the site of the ATLAH Theological Seminary, which offers classes on preaching and prophecy.^[3]

Manning is fiercely opposed to the gentrification of Harlem^[4] and calls for its residents to boycott its shops, restaurants, doctors, banks and churches.^[5] That action, combined with a general rent strike, would force all property owners out of Harlem, he said, leaving the neighborhood to its rightful inheritors: black people.^[2][6] Manning calls his plan "No Dew, Nor Rain," after Elijah's warning to Ahab, king of Israel, of a coming drought. "When there's no dew, no rain, there's a drought – there's all kinds of suffering," said Manning. The whole of Harlem, he said, is to be a "drought zone."^[5][7]

Manning graduated from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York where he was awarded a Master of Divinity.^[8] Manning also holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from his own ATLAH Theological Seminary, an unaccredited educational institution.^[9]

As a younger man, Manning burgled homes, mostly on Long Island. He spent about three and a half years in prison in New York and Florida for burglary, robbery, larceny, criminal possession of a weapon, and other charges before his release in 1978. While in prison, he became a devout Christian.^[2]

According to Manning, he attended the Oxford Round Table in 2004.^[10]

In addition to writing for numerous medical journals, Contreras has participated in medical conferences such as the World Conference on Breast Cancer and is active in the Cancer Control Society. He has been a part of governmental organizations, including the Georgia House of Representatives Health Policy Task Force and the Japanese Medical Association. He has also been on special assignment to Slovakia as a member of the Mexican Health Advisory Board.

A qualified entry-level professional motorcycle racer, Contreras says that racing is similar to performing surgery in that it requires 100 percent focus. Contreras and his wife, Rosa, have four daughters and one son. The family attends church in Bonita, Calif., and enjoys skiing and travel.

The discoverer of life on Mars, Andrew D. Basiago, 47, is an American trial lawyer, writer, and environmental scholar. He was born on September 18, 1961 in Morristown, New Jersey, the youngest of five children, and grew up in New Jersey and California. Andy was one of the "whiz kids" who served from 1969 to 1972 in DARPA’s time-space exploration program, Project Pegasus.

A past member of Mensa, the high IQ society, he holds five degrees, including a BA in History from UCLA and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. While an undergraduate at UCLA, Andy became a journalist and a protégé of editor Norman Cousins of the Saturday Review, who once compared him to Robert Hutchins and nominated him to be the Editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. He was inspired by a meeting with architect Buckminster Fuller in 1981 to pursue a career in environmental policy. After their meeting, Fuller wrote: "Andrew Basiago’s integrity augurs well for humanity’s continuance in (the) Universe."

Andy began his career writing articles about the urban environment for Los Angeles newspapers, national periodicals, and the Cousteau Society magazine Calypso Log. He studied environmental law at Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and then went on to design nature-friendly urban plans for cities in California and study environmental law and policy with Professor Malcolm Grant at Cambridge. His papers about the theory and practice of urban sustainability have been published in international, peer-reviewed journals in Australia, Britain, and the United States, cited widely, and placed in the environmental policy collections of major university libraries.

Andy was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in 1996. A lawyer in private practice, he represents and collaborates with writers and filmmakers in the development of books, TV shows, and feature films with planetary and interplanetary themes. NYC CAN is non-partisan organization comprised of 9/11 Families, First Responders, Survivors and proud, concerned citizens committed to bringing about an independent, impartial investigation into the events of September 11.

On June 24, the group leading the ballot initiative, the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN) filed a petition containing 52,000 signatures with the office of the City Clerk. The official filing initiated a 60-day period specified in Section 37 of the New York Municipal Home Rule Law in which the City Council is asked to review the petition and approve its placement on the upcoming November ballot.

Since this milestone filing, the group has gathered an additional 15,000 signatures and received several endorsements from prominent leaders. Renowned whistleblower and former FBI agent Coleen Rowley, who TIME magazine selected as one of three "Persons of the Year" in 2002, endorsed a new investigation yesterday, as reported by RAWSTORY. Bill Doyle, who lost his son Joseph, has been an outspoken leader of an active community of relatives of the 9/11 victims and he too released a statement endorsing a new inquiry in New York. Joining Doyle in support as signatory to an NYC CAN online petition is Christine O'Neil, wife of ex-FBI Agent John O'Neil, who was killed on the job at the World Trade Center and Lorie Van Auken, a widow from New Jersey and former member of the 9/11 Family Steering Committee.

I was a star at New York University (Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude), a cooking fool (The Anybody Can Make It, Everybody Will Love It Cookbook), a Mom of three (now grown-up) girls, a post-impressionist painter (I had a one-woman show), and a working actress (lots of network television commercials). After being Mrs. Him for 14 years, in 1970 I got unmarried and started my second life, looking for me. Going down mind-expanding avenues, I landed in whatever It is that gave rise to everything. Now what I do is serve. I like to do projects and events where people chew on how it will be when we human beings learn to take care of each other.

"In 1989, when some voice that called itself the Intelligence was coming through, I put out a little pamphlet of what it said. I called it Inside the Intelligence: Mapping the Path to Oneness. I let it have its say, sans much steering from me. It has been a guide for me ever since, wising me up about helping this to become a healing rather than a hurting world. When I put up this Website, I tuned into the Intelligence again. This is what it said:

- There is a logic to human existence. We are writing a manual of what that logic is. This is an intelligence speaking. It is the wisdom of the circle.

- Dialogue is the necessary activity now to save the earth. Everyone sees glimmers of a peril looming; all must attend. Reordering must come. It will not result from legislation or from mediating between warring factions. Any imposition will just create more war. No, this needs to BE an otherness that births inside the womb of now.

- This is the voice of humanity's soul. Snap to attention. Come off the meditation cushion. The family needs to forge. The mother is overblown with pregnancy. A creature must emerge.

We have stripped ourselves, prayed ourselves and meditated ourselves into readiness for evolving together. Who knows where we can go? Into other dimensions or other solar systems or able to read each other's minds? These glimmers in our eyes perhaps can happen sometime -- but first oneness has to be our way.

Recognizing Spirit as what we are expressing and not what we are looking for is the alchemy that transforms. We are of God, here to do the things of God; we come together to outpicture divine energy into the plane of matter. I am devoted to helping that occur.

Laura grew up in rural Ohio. A world traveler at a young age, she tromped through 16 countries by the time she was 8. After high school, Laura headed to the Ohio State University. Shortly thereafter, she ended up working at the headquarters for the Commander-in-Chief for the North Atlantic Fleet. She married, had two children, and continued to pursue a scholarly vision of creating architecture with an anthropological influence which would infuse the work of her heroes—Margaret Mead, Joseph Campbell, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

While attending Indiana State University in 1982, Laura’s life was transformed when she awoke one morning with a searing pain in her head. Within 11 days she was totally blind. Several hours later, she died in an ambulance.

Laura crossed over to the Other Side and had an extraordinary near-death experience. Her life and mission were forever changed. She recovered from this traumatic illness, partially blind and with a rare and precise gift of inner sight. She described to her neurosurgeon how she physically saw particles and ribbons of colors within and around everything, to which he replied, “Laura, it will be 100 years before Western science finds out what really happened to you.”

Early on, a schism formed between her experiences and skills, and the mainstream world. Laura felt far-flung from what life was supposed to be. But what was life supposed to be? She saw a black hole between science, religion, philosophy, and contemporary spirituality and mysticism. There is an unwillingness to speak of one’s direct experiences with God that fall outside the lines of acceptable dogma. She began to envision intelligent, compassionate conversations about living with hope and fulfillment in our flattening world while being consciously engaged in spirituality and its inherently beautiful, yet, challenging experiences.

Her book, Intuitive Wellness, and audio programs, Unlocking Your Intuitive Power: How to Read the Energy of Anything and Color Intuition, begin to address the questions she asked as a child—who or what is God?  For almost thirty years she has engaged in work that keeps her in direct contact with spirituality, never losing her thirst for discovering cross-cultural applications of religion and mysticism, and exploring how science has been empowered to make or break a spiritual point but cannot diminishing one’s personal experience.

An accomplished author, entrepreneur and philanthropist with a greater vision for our world, he believes in the potential of every person, place and thing in it. White authored, “THE WORLD IS A SAFE PLACE”, a book that explores his discoveries in the world of spiritual and quantum mechanics, and is currently working on his second book “THE MIDDLE OF FOREVER”. Chris is the North American Spokesperson for New Humanism, also known as Universal Humanism. He has been active in the Humanist Movement, the concrete and organized expression of New Humanism, for the past 18 years. Like all New Humanists, Chris is a volunteer.

Chris was an Editor of The Chelsea Journal from 1992 to 1994, and helped organize a campaign to fight lead poisoning among local children during this time, among other grass-roots initiatives. From 1994 to 1997, he was publisher of The West Side Story, an all-volunteer humanist neighborhood newspaper for the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in New York City. He also founded a humanist community center for the neighborhood, which hosted projects in the arts, community gatherings and other initiatives. During this time, he launched a campaign to develop a new neighborhood middle school, and supported the campaigns of two Humanist candidates for the school board.

Over the course of his humanist work, Chris has helped organize local, city-wide, and regional humanist forums, including the North American New Humanist Forum in November, 2007 (http://www.newhumanistforum.org/). He participated actively in projects aiming to humanize health care and education. He has also organized demonstrations calling for worldwide nuclear disarmament, and helped lead human support campaigns for humanist projects in Bangladesh and Mozambique.

Chris has represented U.S. New Humanists at humanist conferences and gatherings in Spain, Italy, Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil. He has played an active role in North American projects of support for grass-roots international movements such as the Zapatistas in the Chiapas region of Mexico and the inspiring process of non-violent revolution that is unfolding now in Bolivia. In November, 2007, Chris traveled to La Paz to take part in the 2nd Latin American Humanist Forum. During this trip, he was honored to participate in a ceremony at Tiawanaku, the sacred site of the pre-Incan civilization, and in the opening of the Forum, addressed by Evo Morales and by Tomas Hirsch, the Latin American Spokesperson for New Humanism.

Chris proudly marched with other New Humanists against the invasion of Iraq before it was launched, and in March 2007 & 2008 helped to organize Living Signs of Peace and Non-violence in New York City, protesting the occupation. His other recent activities include several radio interviews, and various actions against a planned US radar base in the Czech Republic (part of the so-called missile defense shield). In April, 2008, Chris joined Jan Tamas, Chair of the Czech Humanist Party and leader of a strong movement against the base, in meetings with Noam Chomsky and Dennis Kucinich.

Last year, Chris was invited to address the 1st International Symposium of the World Center of Humanist Studies, held in Punta de Vacas, Argentina. He presented a talk entitled “A Brief Summary of The Statement of the Humanist Movement” to a distinguished audience including Rodrigo Carazo, former president of Costa Rica and founder of the University for Peace, and Bolivian Senator Gaston Cornejo. During that same weekend, he joined in the launching of the 1st ever World March for Peace and Nonviolence, which he will be actively promoting between now and its conclusion in January, 2010.

A.
