Today,we talked about the few strategies that helped other parents cope and manage behaviors in children with autism. Let me just point that to understand an autistic child behavior, you need to understand what autism or ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) is. Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of a child's life. This disorder affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills. According to the national institute of Neurological disorders and stroke, it is estimated that 1 out of 88 children age 8 will have Autism (Autism spectrum disorder=ASD) Males are four times more likely to have Autism than females. Scientists aren't certain about what causes ASD, but it's likely that both genes and the environment play a role. But because There is no cure for ASDs. Therapies and behavioral interventions are designed to remedy specific symptoms and can bring about substantial improvement.The show ended with an inspirational quote from Tito Rajarshi from his book title: How Can I Talk If My Lips Don't Move?: Inside My Autistic Mind.
