Wayne Lyons II is a former high school Academic All-American football player from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  He played football and graduated from Stanford and The University of Michigan.  Wayne is the founder and president of a non profit organization, Empire for the Youth.

The Watkins Award has established itself for 30 years as the nation’s premier award for African American Males who represent the highest achievement in academics and athletics. It embodies not just a scholar athlete but a person who has been recognized by prominent people in his community as a leader and community advocate.
