THE COURAGE TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR MIND

Your brain serves as the original portable computer: weighing in at just a few pounds, it contains 100,000 miles of blood vessels and 1 quadrillion neurons, and it consumes 25 percent of your body’s oxygen and nutrients and 70 percent of its glucose. It is an electric neural forest rich with memories, emotions, dreams, and desires. But what controls the brain? His this is Ken d Foster and our show today it called How to Supercharge Your Mind.

The mind is the controlling faculty of the brain. It enables a person to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of consciousness and thought. There are three levels of mind, the conscience, subconscious and superconscious. Talk about these…..

Story, I had a mother on two come to me recently and she was having trouble focusing on which task to do..

I asked her if she wanted to rewrite her brain and supercharge her life. She was up for it, so I gave her a mental exercise to do. I asked her to only focus on positive thoughts for 7 days.

WE can rewrite our brains by changing the thoughts we focus on.

But why do we need to reright our brains? For more harmony in our relationships, less stress, better health and more energy. Negative emotions take more energy than positive emotions. They are energy drainers.

Relationships can’t heal with negative emotions being triggered all the time.

Formula for success: The process to lasting change is sometimes slow and incremental but in the end the results are wonderful. More peace, harmony and health.

  1. Set your intention to increase self awareness

  2. Mediate and connect to the Superconscious states of energy

  3. Learn to identily the thoughts that push our buttons, (negative emotions)

  4. Move from Judgment to Empathy

  5. Introspect daily.

Five Tips for Managing Personal and Life Stress

Mental Health Wellness Expert Mary Bass is available for interviews to share her tips below.

Accept that stress is a part of life. Setbacks, hardships, and difficult situations are inevitable. Even though circumstances arise that can’t be changed, continue to devote your efforts towards moving forward and keep taking steps to improve your life.

Keep your problems in proper perspective by expanding your worldview. Don’t catastrophize a relatively minor event, (e.g., your car ran out of gasoline, the dry cleaner lost your suit), and give it the power to ruin your entire day; keep your problems and inconveniences in proper perspective by expanding your worldview. If your inner pessimistic monologue tries to take hold, stop and remind yourself of how small some of your problems are when compared to the daily problems of people suffering in war-torn societies amongst civil unrest.

Take care of your physical health to strengthen your mind to help better manage stress. You can’t effectively combat stress if you’re constantly overwrought, worn out and running on empty. Consistently improving your physical health will greatly benefit your mental health, therefore, better nutrition, extra sleep and a regular exercise regimen are great tools to successfully manage stress while building mental strength.

Choose healthy coping skills for managing stress. Instead of turning to unhealthy vices to temporarily escape your stress, cope with stress in a productive manner instead. Utilize healthy and prolific activities to cope with stress and emotional pain, (e.g., journaling, fitness, partaking in hobbies).

Look for the silver lining because you might find you’re gaining mental strength. Maintain a grounded, realistic outlook on life while looking for the silver lining in tough and stressful circumstances. Take control of your mind and choose to use stressful circumstances to become emotionally stronger. The more mental strength you have, the more stress you can withstand and successfully overcome.

Mary Bass knows about stress and managing it. For over two and a half years, Ms. Bass was illegally detained. During her time as a Detainee, Ms. Bass channeled the stress of her surroundings into her writing and penned several controversial memoirs and numerous short stories. Ms. Bass is an advocate for mental health and wellness.

Why Sleeping with the TV On Could Cause Weight Gain

A new study suggests that dozing with the television on or sleeping with any kind of light can cause weight gain. Researchers from the National Institutes of Health say that's because too much exposure to light at night mixes up the metabolism. It also affects a person's ability to get a good nights rest.

"A crucial factor in regulating sleep and the circadian rhythm is exposure artificial, LED, and ambient light at bedtime. Exposure to artificial light excites a central nervous system pathway to regions of the brain that control hormones such as melatonin, human body temperature and other functions that impact the ability to fall asleep," says Dr. Robert Carter, III, the co-author of The Morning Mind: Use Your Brain to Master Your Day and Supercharge Your Life.
