Guest Occupation: Cancer Researcher
Guest Biography:

JACK ANDRAKA is a Maryland high school sophomore who at age 15 invented an inexpensive and sensitive dipstick-like sensor for the rapid and early detection of pancreatic, ovarian and lung cancers. After a close family friend died of pancreatic cancer, Jack (then a ninth grader) became interested in finding a better early-detection diagnostic test. He learned that the lack of a rapid, low-cost early screening method contributed to the poor survival rate among individuals with pancreatic cancer. After thinking further about the problem, he came up with a plan and a budget to put his ideas in motion.

He contacted about 200 research professionals at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health about his plan. He got 199 rejection letters and then finally got an acceptance from Dr. Anirban Maitra, Professor of Pathology, Oncology and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, who became his mentor. It was at Dr. Maitra’s lab where Jack developed his test.

The diagnostic method he developed is more than 90 percent accurate in detecting the presence of pancreatic cancer's biomarker protein called mesothelin, and earned him the grand prize $75,000 Gordon E. Moore Award – named for Intel’s co-founder – after competing with 1,500 other young scientists from 70 countries. He also won other prizes in smaller individual categories for a total award of $100,500, which he will use towards college. He has formed a company and has applied for both national and international patents.

Since then Jack has won the Smithsonian American Ingenuity Youth Award and has spoken at the Clinton Global Initiative, FutureMed,Chicago Ideas Week, Singularity U, TEDx MidAtlantic, TEDx Redmond, TEDx Orange Coast, TED New York Talent Search, TED Salon London and soon at TED @Long Beach . He has been featured in several documentaries including Morgan Spurlock’s Sundance Film Festival entry “ You don’t know Jack”, Linda Peters’ award winning film “Just Jack” as well on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CNN, BBC, Fox, Rede Record de Televisão and many radio, newspaper and magazine articles around the world

Guest Biography:

Julian Lampert's hallmark is Versatility; between the music of Gibbons, Bach, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff, to his own compositions within latin, jazz, gospel and classical genres, Julian covers over 400 years of musical styles.

Born into a musical family in Moscow, he immigrated with his family to the U.S. as a young child. Julian studied piano, harmony and counterpoint with his mother, Dr. Elyena Miremonde, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory. At eight, he gave his first recital––an all-Tchaikovsky program. Four years later, he made his concerto debut under conductor Victor Rosenbaum and The Cambridge Concerto Players. This brought him to the attention of Richard Probst, at that time Director of Concerts & Artists at Steinway, and later Vice-President of Harold Shaw Concerts. Under Richard Probst’s auspices, Mr. Lampert would make many appearances in the United States, Europe and Russia. He has been coached by some of the world’s most distinguished artists, as Schura Cherkassky, Dorothy Taubman and Eliza Hansen who selected him for a Master-Course in Hamburg, Germany, in 1986 and ’87.

At 16, his recital at the St. Paul Trois-Chateaux Film Festival was broadcast by French Television. A year later, Mr. Lampert appeared on Radio France Internationale’s contemporary music series with Valery Afanassiev. In 1989, Mr. Lampert participated in the Marlboro Music Festival where he was coached by Rudolf Serkin and Richard Goode. He was the youngest artist at the Scotia Music Festival in 1991, directed that year by Pierre Boulez. At Amherst College, he worked with Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Lewis Spratlan and jazz conductor/author, Andrew Jaffe. Mr. Lampert was harpsichordist and pianist for Amherst Collegium Musicum and the Bach Festival directed by Blanche Moyse. He appeared at the Hall of the Kosciuszko Foundation in two festivals of Chopin directed by David Dubal.

After meeting with Fred Rogers—creator of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood—who attended Mr. Lampert’s debut in Pittsburgh in 1999, Julian was inspired to write music for young people. He wrote many pieces and songs for music & arts workshops presented at The Miremonde Arts Center, founded by Mr. Lampert’s mother, Elyena Miremonde (please see www.miremondearts.org). He has twice served as jury-member of the Nicholas Flagello Young Pianists Competition of New York and has coached young composers in the Songcatchers Program in New York.

Since 1999, Mr. Lampert has been engaged as composer by figure-skating legends Ludmila & Oleg Protopopov, two-time Olympic gold medalists. They danced to his music in several televised productions, including their historic return to Russia in 2005 for the first time since their defection. In 1996, he was honored by the Scriabin Society of Moscow by being selected to inaugurate a festival of Scriabin’s music for the 125’th anniversary of his birth.

In 2006, Mr. Lampert made his debut with the Westchester Chamber Orchestra under Barry Charles Hoffman, performing Beethoven’s Fourth Concerto. Since 2007, The First Lady of St. Martin, Josianne Fleming, has presented Julian in series of recitals presented by the Rotary Club of Guadeloupe.

As Artistic Director of The Miremonde Arts Concert Series, Mr. Lampert has presented a remarkably diverse range of music, from the Baroque and Classical to Jazz and Latin genres. At Miremonde Arts, he has collaborated with Stefan Hoskuldsson—Metropolitan Opera Principal Flutist, The Kopelman String Quartet, Grammy-winning duo Eddy Davis & Conal Fowkes, and R&B vocalist Clayton Bryant, among others.

This year will see the release of two albums: "In Between", featuring originals within jazz, latin and gospel music, and "Lampert in Concert", presenting music by Haydn, Beethoven, Prokofiev, and Scriabin.

 Interviewing James Kozlik on
Local Community Building

Jan. 11, 2014

by Christopher Rudy, Host of BBS Radio's Cosmic LOVE

James is a permaculture advocate who applies these principles to community building.  We’ll be discussing different processes for culturing community with practical models of ‘resource sharing’ and ‘skill exchange’ utilizing the
Currency of Conscience’.

Consider how:

·        All social problems are, at heart, ‘communication’ problems – how we
come into unity to overcome disempowering divisions with community.

·        The community building process is inseparable from enlightened “TLC” (TeLeComm) that optimizes heart coherence in our social networks.

·        Cooperative communication coordinations is the ordained paradigm shift from lockstep matrix group think to open systems of conscious evolution.

·        Open systems of freedom and opportunity make closed system of tyranny and austerity obsolete. This is the SHIFT from highly centralized, top-down programming of mainstream “BS” (Belief Systems)… and it is a paradigm shift towards highly decentralized, bottom-up, grassroots-to-‘Net-roots’ social Conscience in our local and global social networks.

Communication of, by and for community-social Conscience
translates to Conscience Currency.

The coordinates for this paradigm shift applies to a any social network community… defining and refining a process of ‘information’s ecology’ for organizing all information IN FORMATION… with a heart.

The Blessing of Global TeLeComm:
co-Creating in the new "grass-roots"
(Net roots) for "permanent culture"
(sustainable permaculture).

For example, consider how the Internet has virtually eliminated time and space with instant, everywhere and interactive networking capabilities in our global social network communities.  Mankind is awakening to awareness of ourselves as the Family of Man in a global village. Local and global interdependence is a fact of life.  Almost half of the world's 7.2 billion people are now connected with smartphones, tablets, lap-top and desk-top computers.

Is it true that global Netizens now have a communications platform
to get our act together as the Family of Man in a global village?

Are you aware that we could now create a permanent culture
(sustainable permaculture) of, by and for ALL global Netizens?

Would you agree that humanity’s conscious evolutionary ascent
will make dimwit devolutionary descent obsolete?

There’s nothing more valuable than a vision for
global TeLeComm that has found it’s time.

More high ground positioning points HERE.

So welcome James Kozlik to Cosmic LOVE
with your presence.

Guest Biography:

Patricia Awyan

Co Director of the Khemit School of Ancient Mysticism, Teacher, Lecturer, Artist and Life Counselor

From a very young age, Patricia knew that she would one day be going home to Egypt. Having been born with a need to know, she has spent much of her life on a personal quest for knowledge, wisdom and spiritual fulfillment. Patricia's strong and vital connection to Nature and interest in the mystical and physical sciences propelled her into a lifelong study of the ancient mysteries.

As a long time student in metaphysical, spiritual and esoteric subjects and traditions, Patricia's eclectic spiritual background serves as a strong foundation to support to her work. She became of student of Khemitology after meeting world renowned, indigenous Wisdom Keeper, Abdel Hakim Awyan (1926-2008), on her first trip to Egypt in 2005. It was during her third journey to Egypt that she would meet, and fall in love with her husband, Yousef Awyan. Together, she and Yousef created The Khemit School of Ancient Mysticism as an open forum to share the teachings of his father, Hakim, and to continue on with the exploration and research of the ancient mysteries, both on and off the sites. They guide independent explorers that come to their doorstep from all over the world, and host their own tours several times each year.

Patricia’s focus has been on relating the secrets, symbolism and mysteries of the ancients to the shifting energies of our current reality. She lectures and has created online lessons that speak of our eternal cycling through golden and dark ages, and how the evidence left behind, by the very ancient Khemitians (Egyptians), portrays a civilization that far surpassed our own both technologically and spiritually. Much of what we think is REAL- is an illusion. However, the illusion serves to challenge and inspire us to grow and raise our own levels of awareness-- and to remember how to live resonantly with our natural world. Patricia illustrates how the ancients left us a blueprint that maps out the truth of the beauty, perfection and infinite possibilities that exist within and outside every one of us-- if we are willing to view our world from a higher perspective, as symbolized by the eye of Horus.

Lecture Subjects

  1. Discovering the most powerful secrets left to us by the ancients, despite the ongoing transformation and misinterpretation of their symbols and mythologies.

The Pantheon of Egyptian Neteru (gods and goddesses) actually symbolize aspects and/or forces of nature with multi-dimensional meanings and significance-- including being representative of the 360 senses that the indigenous say we all once had, in a higher dimensional Golden Age called the Age of Aten.

Patricia will discuss how we have been purposely given false interpretations of many of the ancient symbols and mythologies and how many of the original meanings were transformed and retold throughout different time periods, geographical areas and from differing cultural perspectives. Mythologists and symbologists often forget that the myths and symbols have been formed and transformed over thousands, if not, tens of thousands of years of history. And not only this --the secrets were hidden through layers of different interpretations directed toward different groups of people. The most powerful secrets were only entrusted to a select few.

Patricia relates to a heritage that has been passed down through the ages via an oral tradition of indigenous Egyptian (mostly female) wisdom keepers. They speak of a time in "pre-history --10,000 - 65,000 years ago or more when there was a highly advanced civilization living here during a great Golden Age on the planet. This was a matriarchal civilization that revered the strength and wisdom of the "mother"-- who they related to the creation energy of all that is. Everything is vibration; everything exists in waveform---the sin wave. It is the Neter, Hathor (primordial mother energy) that gives this sin wave the spark of "life" through Sound! This is why so many cultures revere the serpent energy which is the basis for all that exists in our three dimensional reality including our very own DNA.

The Egyptian Pantheon of Neteru were not created to be worshiped like the gods of our current "religions". They are multi-level aspects or forces of Nature---that combine to reflect the nature of our reality. Patricia will speak about these Neteru and what they represent --as well as the spiraling cycles -and cycles within cycles, of our existence. The indigenous here in Egypt concur with the wisdom keepers from around the globe: We have migrated through the end of a long Dark Age, and are experiencing the dawning of a new Golden Age that the indigenous here call the Age of Kheper, symbolized by the Winged Scarab.

When we trace the migration of symbols and legends back through the ages we make many fascinating discoveries. The truth of who we are and what we are capable of is beyond our scope of understanding---but the implications are mind boggling! We (not aliens), were the Gods and Goddesses that built and created the megalithic monuments and pyramid networks as energy devices. The abilities we deem to be supernatural or godlike, are perfectly natural gifts that we have all forgotten we once had and can have again!

  1. The ancient and still very active Sacred Sites of Egypt (and all over the world) are capable of interacting with, and transforming us today.

The indigenous tell us that the ancient Khemitians called the Pyramids and other energy devices Per Neters, or houses of energy. They named their Temples- Per Bas or houses of spirit and created them both with a perfection of sacred geometrical form and mathematics, along with a combination of specific natural elements and on top of aqueducts and manmade waterways and ley lines that pulse intense energies from within the earth. Many of the monuments are perfectly laid out according to the four cardinal directionsand many reflect and interact with different solar and stellar events and maybe even the stars themselves.

It is no accident that people who come to Egypt often find that their entire lives change when they return home. The ancient concept of pilgrimage was not created to fulfill a religious obligation, but rather, as an opportunity to heal the body, mind and spirit, to re-awaken the senses and literally raise ones levels of awareness and consciousness.

What is evident to usis that we are affected by our experiencing of these still alive and powerful sites today. Patricia will speak about how the temples, symbols and the pantheon of Neteru are reflective of an external universe and a universe within our own physicality. Alchemy and Chemistry are words that are derived from the label for ancient Egypt Khemit which can refer to an alchemy of the physical and/or the etheric. As we walk up the consistently rising star gate path of many of the temples here, our consciousness and our levels of awareness are gradually elevated, as we approach the powerful Holy of Holies...representing our very own Pineal Gland, our own energetic portal to all that is. Patricia will address how we can enhance these spiritual and healing experiences through resonant sound and meditation, offering us the opportunity to transcend dimensions.

Henry Frank Turner (born August 18, 1966) is a retired American professional basketball player, in the small forward position.
Basketball career

Turner played collegiately for California State University, Fullerton, graduating in 1988, and had a two-season stint in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings (1989–90 and 1994–95), he averaged 3 points and one rebound per game in 66 regular season games combined.

In Europe, Turner played mainly in Italy, representing Emmezeta Udine (Serie A2), Panna Firenze (Serie A2), Ducato Siena (Jun–Oct 1998), BingoSNAI Montecatini, Müller Verona and Adecco Milano).[1] He also had spells in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, and Greece with Panionios B.C. and Maroussi BC.

While playing in Greece for Panionios during the 1993-94 season, Turner thrilled the crowds with his performances and stunning slam dunks. Both came together in one memorable first-half performance against PAOK in the semi-final of the KORAC Cup. In front of a full-house of raucous Panionios fans, Turner scored 30 points in the half and capped it with a 360 degree dunk that had the supporters (and game commentator) in delirium. Unfortunately for Turner and Panionios, they faded in the second-half and lost a 20-point lead and the game, 83-85, with Turner ending on 37 points. Nevertheless, the first half remains etched in the memory of Panionios fans and, more generally, followers of Greek basketball from that unforgettable era.

While representing Fenerbahçe, Turner was granted Turkish citizenship, and played under the name Hakkı Uzun.[2] He retired in 2002 at 36, and went on to work as a basketball analyst for Comcast with co-hosts Jim Kozimor and Kayte Christensen and Lafayette Lever, covering Sacramento Kings games.

Stewart, son of former Santa Clara standout and European pro Mike Stewart, starred at Kennedy High School in Sacramento, California, leading the Cougars to back-to-back city section titles in 1990 and 1991.

Stewart played four seasons at the University of California, Berkeley. He averaged 4.3 ppg and 4.7 rpg in 117 games and finished as the Bears' all-time leading shot-blocker (207). Stewart set a school record by blocking 59 shots as a freshman in 1993–94 and holds the four best single-season totals for blocks in school history. He never missed a game, playing in all 117 games during his collegiate career and shooting .510 from the field.

At the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival, Stewart was a member of the bronze medal-winning West team.

Stewart went undrafted and was signed to a one-year contract by the Sacramento Kings on September 11, 1997. This was a dream come true for Michael, as he had served as a ball boy for the Kings in his youth. In 1997–98, he led the Kings in blocked shots and ranked second overall among NBA rookies. He also blocked nine shots in one game. On January 21, 1999, Stewart was signed as a free agent by the Toronto Raptors. During the ensuing offseason, he was re-signed to a six-year, $24 million contract by the team.

In 2002, Stewart was traded from the Raptors (along with a future second round pick) to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Lamond Murray.

Guest Biography:

Ralph Poynter (Lynne Stewart's husband) and Jeff Mackler (West Coast Coordinator for the Defense of Lynne Stewart) appeared with host Samantha Legend on The People Speak radio show (Airdate 6/11/2013).  Both Ralph and Jeff shared the story of activist /lawyer Lynne Stewart who had been unjustly imprisoned for her humanitarian works and activism as a lawyer and her ongoing struggle to gain compassionate release as she was dying from cancer in prison.

A promise was made: If Lynne was released - Jeff, Ralph and of course Lynne would come back on the show and sing a song for us!  We are overjoyed that this promise will be fulfilled and invite our audience to hear Ms Stewart in her first performance since being released as part of this musical trio.

ABOUT LYNNE STEWART from an article by Alan Maass in the Socialist Worker 1/22/13:

Lynne Stewart has been a fearless lawyer for many decades, defending clients targeted by aggressive prosecutors, especially in the era of escalating state repression that preceded and followed the Bush administration's declaration of the "war on terror" in 2001.

In a clear attempt to exact revenge, the Bush administration targeted Stewart herself. She was accused helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, to communicate with an Islamic organization in Egypt at a time when he was barred from making contact. How did Stewart supposedly do this?

By issuing a press release on behalf of Abdel-Rahmen. Despite the flimsy evidence and obvious political motivations of the prosecution, Stewart was convicted in 2005. She was originally sentenced to 28 months in prison--already an outrageous term for a lawyer who did nothing more than communicate on behalf of her client. But federal prosecutors then demanded a still-longer sentence on the outrageous grounds that Steward was a danger to "national security."

Stewart was ultimately given a 10-year sentence--a potentially life-threatening term given that she was battling breast cancer at the time. The sentence was upheld by an appeals court in June of last year. Stewart's team of lawyers prepared a asking the U.S. Supreme Court to throw out the sentence.

Stewart explained on Democracy Now! in 2009 that her case raises "important constitutional issues--the right to speak to your lawyer privately without the government listening in, the right to be safe from having a search conducted of your lawyer's office. All these things are now swept under the rug and available to the government."

Despite her health problems, Stewart has continued to help fellow prisoners with legal advice while behind bars. And her spirit remains strong. In a message to supporters for the New Year, she said:

I have a strong sense of never allowing any such problem deter me from someday getting released and walking out under my own power to rejoin our
struggle...

We...face a formidable challenge in getting my case before the Supreme Court. Will they deign to hear us? Will we advance the sunlight or only increase the shadows on our constitutional rights?? We can only strive to present our issues in the best possible way and "fight like hell." There is no predicting results, but in prison, HOPE is the only currency.

Lynne Stewart deserves all the support we can give as she continues the struggle for her rights and ours.

Guest Biography:

My name is Dan Hartley! I live in Bay Minette, Alabama! I am writing you today to offer you an Opportunity to own a piece of Nashville. I have been writing songs for twenty years … but it was not up until recently I decided to try to get my songs into the Nashville market.

I am going to make this short! I contacted Gary Carter Studios  who has played with the best in Nashville who did an incredible job on the TWO songs I sent! Next … I contacted a fourteen year  pro SONG PLUGGER – Chris Keaton to represent my songs!

The Selecting Process: When an artist is getting ready to produce a new album, his producer will begin to listen to about 1000 songs to narrow it down to 300 songs then 100 songs and finally 15 songs to put on the album. The entire process takes place over five to nine months!

What can be made from a song? Somewhere from $30,000 to $300,000 as a writer! If your song makes it to the radio … you have hit the big times! Song ROYALTY’S can go on for years!

Like “GRANMA GOT RUN OVER BY A RAINDEER” the writer makes about $50,000 to $100,000 per year around Christmas for the last twelve years! The Gambler by Kenny Rodgers made the writer over 2 million … it made it to a movie!

I sent my two songs off in AUGUST – 2013 … to see if I could get thru the door! I have SIX ARTIST as of this writing including CORBIN EASTON – GARY ALLEN TO name a few! Two artists have kept my songs for five months … some two months …. And some just started! Just to get in the mix was a hundred thousand to one chance … and I have beaten those odds! I believe both songs will land on an album!

WHY I AM WRITING THIS? I have been laid off work for 5 months! Running out of time and money to pay bills! I have a few things working but they may take a little more time to develop! I have written two more great songs that I believe will make the cut! It takes money to demo and pay a plugger like CHRIS KEATON to get you in the door! So with that in mind …. For $5000 … I am offering 10% ROYALTY SHARE plus the upfront money of $5000 back first on the first song to make a cut! With this money I will be able to get two more in the mix over the next six months! There are NO GUARANTEEDS that any song will make the cut! But with the response on the first TWO SONGS …. It is a matter of time.
