"Healing for your Soul"

Malaun Rice – Victor, Speaker, Coach
Founder - M-Drive

Malaun Rice is a sexual assault survivor. She was kidnapped and raped when she was 10 years old. From that point her light was dimmed. She dealt with anger, lack of self-worth, depression, and borderline alcoholism most of her adult life. One day her life crashed and she realized she needed help. Malaun began with therapy and started her journey of healing. Through this journey she learned self-love, the power of the word NO and what freedom means to her. The biggest come up in her journey is the relationship she has with God! Now, she is a life coach and speaker who blazes the trail to help others to begin the healing process.

Malaun Rice injects passion in everything she does.  As a thinker and a doer, she flourishes in anything that she does; bringing her commitment to delivering results to corporate and non-profit organizations.  For ten plus years, Rice built a record of success producing events, developing partnerships, and creating campaigns for influential brands such as Walt Disney World, Allstate Insurance, Clear Channel, McDonald’s and the United States Census Bureau.  On this path, she learned a great deal about managing clients and celebrities with a deft touch, the importance of consistent innovation, and the value of her natural ability to build mutually beneficial relationships.

After 10 years in Corporate America, Rice gave into her entrepreneurial leanings and founded M-Drive, a company specializing in transforming lives and changing mindsets for people to discover how to live their best lives. Not only did this move allow her to bring her complete portfolio of expertise to the marketplace - but it also provided the opportunity to do something that has been important to her since she was very young: lend spiritual and professional support to women.

To this end, Rice started Lioness Den, the non-profit arm of M-Drive that focuses on building up women who have been victims of sexual crimes and abuse, may have damaged self-esteem due to numerous attempts to render them powerless, or need mentorship to help them walk fully in their purpose.  Rice knows there is life after trauma; and is wholeheartedly dedicated to her goal to extend a helping hand to women globally via transitional homes that promote healing as well as economic and professional development programs.

Rice is a sought-after speaker who has captivated audiences at engagements held by organizations such as National Council of Negro Women, Morton College, Local First Arizona, Schaumburg Business Association, Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence and DuSable Museum and has been a guest contributor for media outlet WJYS-TV.  Rice has a BA in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration from Governors State University in University Park, IL and a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL.  She is a proud Chicago native, currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona, who enjoys indulging her fashionista tendencies by shopping at local boutiques in between client meetings and doing good for womanhood.

Guest Biography:

STATE SENATOR JENNIFER L. McCLELLAN
Senate of Virginia (Democrat, District 9)

As a daughter of community leaders and educators raised in the segregated South during the Depression, Jennifer McClellan was raised with a strong sense of servant leadership and a calling to strengthen her community. Her family’s experience and her study of history taught her that government can either be a force for progressive change to solve problems or a force of oppression that benefits a select few. At a young age, Jenn dedicated herself to ensuring government was that force of change for all.

For most of her life, Jenn has channeled those values into her commitment for progress, equity and justice in the Commonwealth. She has implemented those values as a leader in the community, the Democratic party and in her more than 14 years of service as a legislator in the Virginia General Assembly. Jenn currently serves as chair of Virginia’s Martin Luther King Jr. Commission.

Jenn gets things done. She has been a driving force for progressive change in Virginia, leading the passage of landmark laws to invest in education, grow small business, expand access to health care, ban discrimination and inequity, safeguard workers’ rights and voting rights, reform the criminal justice system, protect a woman’s right to choose and tackle climate change.

Jenn lives in Richmond with her husband, David Mills, and their two children, Jackson and Samantha.

Guest Biography:

Hi everyone. I’ve been playing Bass guitar since I was 17..some 5 years ago now ( Ok..dream on Martin ..)

I got into Bass after having an acoustic guitar for about a year but realizing I’d never be as good as I hoped, though I still play 6 string electric and acoustic for my own pleasure at home.

My childhood heroes were the usual Glam Rock and pop acts of the 70’s as seen on Top of the Pops every Thursday, but in my mid teens I really got into 60’s music and 50’s Rock n Roll.

I adored The Beatles and being a left handed guitarist  my idol was Paul McCartney, so I decided to get a Bass.

I managed to get a decent left handed one, but struggled with theory and music books and after about 6 months I was getting no joy or pleasure from playing and sold it back to the same music shop I had bought it from. About a week later I regretted it and promptly bought it back.

This time I concentrated on combining what music knowledge I’d gained from learning acoustic guitar, and then matching it with what a bass actually did and how it worked with drums and melody and rhythm and just started playing along to early Beatles records.

Once I’d discovered how a walking bassline works in Rock n Roll, I was playing along with as many records I could lay my hands on . This time I actually had fun instead of sat around in an empty bedroom trying to work out incomprehensible theory and being baffled by tutor books that were way above my head.

The first songs I ever mastered were From me to You and Heartbreak Hotel...Not bad choices eh?  Once I understood how and why the bass was doing what it was doing, I was away and discovered I could actually play.

In my very late teens, I was obsessed with joining a band, and a long long journey began.

I was in quite a few original ‘ Indie ‘ type bands as we all kept up the dream of trying to get a record deal, it never happened, but I had loads of fun and learned so much about how bands work, gigging experience, what works and what doesn’t.

I can’t remember how many gigs or bands I was in during my Twenties. But it was a lot, the friendships I made then lead to me being introduced to Colin in 1995 and our first tentative rehearsals.

I immediately knew this was a band that was not only great fun but had a no nonsense attitude to getting things right and it was clear that with a frontman like Colin, this was going to be a far bigger commitment and experience than the bands I’d previously been in.

And so it proved to be for many years.  I had the greatest time ever, travelling the absolute length and breadth of the UK every weekend, playing gigs and to audiences I’d never dreamed of before, having lots of laughs and making life long friends.

I’m so glad the band is back and up and running again and it feels right that we grow old disgracefully together where we belong...On stage!

I’ve had the pleasure of being in one of the resident bands at the Cavern Club for the last eleven years too and until the Pandemic I was busier than I’ve ever been as a working musician. I really hope those days return again soon.

I guess I’ve played over 3,500 gigs in my time … A heck of a lot and though they’re all just a blur, hopefully many many more still to come.

I also started a Jam session/recording band with friends and past Persuaders called The Dominators. We recorded an album called Maximum Rock 'n' Roll. It was received very well by the Rock 'n' Roll DJ's both on the circuit and radio. Here is a link to the album... Enjoy   The Dominators - Maximum Rock 'n' Roll

I’ve been extremely lucky to play in many countries, both with Colin and the Cavern band, Liverpool Beat ..The ones I can remember.... The USA, Bahrain, Norway, Greece, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Holland, Hungary, Belgium...erm.. Wales.

I’ve also been lucky to play bass for a lot of famous singers and musicians, but by far the biggest thrill and the nicest man I’ve ever met was to be in James Burton’s band for one night a few years ago. What an absolute gentleman he is.

My music tastes are so varied these days . I try to listen to as much new music as I can, but my heart will always be in Rock n Roll. I think it’s what I do best as a bass player. I love writing songs, have a small studio at home. But my heart is in live music. Let’s bring it back soon with Colin and the lads.

Guest Occupation: American economist, history in politics, economics, gun rights advocacy
Guest Biography:

John R. Lott Jr. is an American economist with an extensive background and history in politics, economics and gun rights advocacy. His academic and professional career is lengthy and diverse, having worked at and written for a variety of educational institutions and publications across America. He has also authored several works on gun rights and economics covering the free-market theory.

John Lott was born in 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. His academic journey began at UCLA, where he received his Bachelors in Economics in 1980. He went on to obtain both his Masters and Ph.D. in the same field at UCLA in 1982 and 1984, respectively. From there, Lott went on to to work as an Economist and in the law field profession at the University of Maryland, Yale Law School, the University of Stanford, Texas A&M University, UCLA, Rice University and Wharton Business School. Outside of employment at these universities, Lott also worked as Chief Economist at the United States Sentencing Commission, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a senior researcher at the University of Maryland Foundation.

Lott is most famous for his view on gun rights, including the right of gun ownership in The United States and the ability to carry a gun. He has received both praise and criticism for his views, making him a controversial economic and political figure. His most well-known works on gun rights include More Guns, Less Crime and The Bias Against Guns. In these works, Lott argues that the more guns Americans have, the less likely there will be crime. He stands strongly against strict gun restrictions and gun laws, claiming that only gun use used for violence is broadcast on the media, instead of guns used as defense. He believes this misrepresentation of gun use is unfair and a key factor in misinformation in proper gun use in America.

His arguments have landed him several roles as a political commentator. His op-ed pieces have been featured in a number of publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times and USA Today. He also contributed regularly to Fox News from 2008-2009, where he published works on such subjects as then-President Barrack Obama’s political and financial decisions, race problems in America, women’s rights, unemployment and the Great Recession of 2008, among other topics.

As of 2020, Lott continues to write political and economic pieces on his online blog. His blog posts continue to cover a range of political and economic topics, including the 2020 Presidential Election, racial protests in America, the Coronavirus pandemic and the change of gun laws in various states. Lott’s posts can also be found on the Crime Prevention Research Center website, which was founded and owned by Lott for several years. Lott hopes that more Americans can understand the use of guns in anti-violence prevention in the new decade.

MEG NOCERO

Sometimes, difficulties and loss can reshape who we are and nudge us into growing. Just like a caterpillar sheds its skin and spins itself a silky chrysalis, what results is a breathtakingly beautiful creature we could never imagine, the butterfly. Meg Nocero’s story is not so different as she depicts her extraordinary transformation in Butterfly Awakens.

As a forty-something Italian-American immigration attorney, Meg moves through unimaginable grief and sadness watching her beloved mother lose her battle to breast cancer. Questioning her life choices and opening herself up to her soul’s calling, Nocero brings readers along on her journey through a dark night of the soul. We experience with her the grieving process, a toxic work environment, and intense stress that results in depression and anxiety, along with a somatic nervous disorder called tinnitus. Meg never gives up and– instead– looks for the help she needs to start to heal and find her light. In the end, like the metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly, her story is a beautiful love letter honoring her mother’s legacy while detailing the awakening of her own.

Among the many stories about breast cancer and grief, none are quite like this one. After resigning from her career as a federal prosecutor due to a toxic administration, she searches for the lighthouse she saw in a vision when her mother died. Embarking on an inspiring spiritual pilgrimage on El Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain to get to the lighthouse at Cap Finisterre, she sets out to wake up and live again. The butterfly connection and stark honesty of her writing offers readers important lessons learned from moving through grief so that each person can shine their light again.

MEG NOCERO is a former Department of Homeland Security attorney. After 19 years of federal government service, she resigned to pursue her dream as a writer, inspirational speaker, a success coach, and attorney for justice.

Nocero is an avid learner who holds a BA in Spanish, with a concentration in Italian from Boston College; an MA in international affairs from the University of Miami; and a JD from St. Thomas University School of Law. She is a member of the Florida Bar, serves on the Wellness Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and holds certifications as a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center instructor, as a Professional Coach from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, and as an Associate Certified Coach from the International Coaching Federation. She has a Certificate in Happiness Studies through Harvard Professor Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar’s Happiness Studies Academy and a Certificate for the Science of Well-Being from Yale University.

In addition to being named Miz CEO Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019, she appeared on CNN Español with Ismael Cala and hosts her own YouTube channel and a podcast called “Manifesting with Meg: Conversations with Extraordinary People.”

JAYE YATES

My name is Jaye and I’ve thanked The Heavenly Father above for the gifts I have received in music, art and the 6th sense but most of all the spiritual awareness of love and vibrations. I started taking my music more seriously after a car accident at 29 years of age that changed my thoughts about life.

Left my full time job and I bought two old speakers and a second hand desk and started singing around cafes and sporting clubs as background music till I was approached by an agent to do Tribute Shows.

The agent VIP Entertainment Steve and Jennifer thought I had a tone of Cher in my voice so from there I had costumes made, wigs and backing music at Alfredos Studio and off across all sorts of places, entertaining I ventured.

I also then did tributes of Eurythmics, Dusty Springfield, Stevie Nicks and Marilyn.

I was blessed to be able to travel to many places with the tributes, Sydney, Brisbane, Northern Territory, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali and UK.

I always had original songs floating round in my head and eventually recorded quite a few whilst performing and holding down a part time job in the funeral industry with which I also had the privilege of singing on Funeral Services.

I wrote a song for Suicide prevention with which I help as one of a few charities along with Animals Australia and Romeo Rabbit and guinea Pig rescue.

I love music of all sorts as it has been my love, therapy and balance.

The latest song co-written with Tim Sacke Love Is Like The Ocean…..is just that! Ups and downs on waves!

A great Italian producer Papik produced the song beautifully and the video was produced by a great talented friend Vaughan Adam’s that took me out on his yacht along with our mate Andy to record on nothing better but the Indian Ocean off Perth Western Australia. The song has a Sade kind of feel as I’ve always loved Sade from the 80s.

I create music for the love and will continue to create with anything that inspires me.

As knowing the funeral industry so well now I also know how short life can be and every day is a precious experience

Elect Juli Henry for US Senate

SAVE COLORADO

In recent years, our beautiful state of Colorado partook in some of the most dramatic events in American political history. With these events came challenges, much of which have burdened our lives, the lives of our loved ones, and entire communities.

Politics is difficult for many of us to understand – its nature and complexity leaves us heavily reliant on those in power, as we fidget and hope that they fight for us. And while they tell us over and over again that we are their first priority, we somehow end up suffering the consequences of their actions that are even sometimes a result of their own ignorance and impulsivity.

Juli Henry promises a new way forward for our great state of Colorado, and the United States of America.

I love our state, and the people in it. I have dedicated my entire life to community service, and wish to see everyone – regardless of their political affiliation – treated with equal respect and opportunity. This wish of mine is not uncommon, as I am sure we all wish to see the betterment of every person. But unfortunately we have been divided against each other, forced to pick a side, and ultimately finding ourselves in a constant debate between who is right and who is wrong. The entire nation is a victim of this, and Colorado is no different.

I believed the best way to resolve this issue was to serve my country. It didn’t work. I started my own nonprofit to assist those who needed more help than me. It didn’t work. Politics is nothing more than a game, consisting of players who give us false truths, and balance their self-interests with that of their own. And now, after seeing all the pain that we have suffered, have concluded that the only way for real action is to play their silly game, with the intention of creating a positive change: for my family, my community, and my state.

My name is Juli Henry. I am a Colorado wife, mother, Army veteran, and a Republican. More importantly, I am an American, and I know that nothing will change if we ourselves do not enact the action necessary to improve our community. I never imagined myself having to go to such lengths to fight for my rights and the rights instilled in every American, but if it means providing more people the opportunity for prosperity, I am willing to stake my name and wellbeing to ensure such matters.

I hereby announce my candidacy as the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, and with your support, I promise a new way forward for our great state of Colorado, and the United States of America.
