March 19 - This day’s pontifical quack-quack! quote, provided by block-brained, trigger-happy, Donald ‘twisted-war-logic’ Rumtank, as plastered throughout the media: "Turning our backs on postwar Iraq today would be the modern equivalent of handing postwar Germany back to the Nazis." A. You can’t “hand back” something you don’t really have. B. There is no “postwar Iraq.” The fighting continues, and Iraq will be at war with us as long as we are there. C. There were no Nazis after WWII. All the fighting had stopped and the German people renounced Nazism ten times faster than they took it up - like a hot potato. D. To be genuinely honest and accurate, it would be exactly like “the modern equivalent of handing” the North American continent back to the American Indians. Our resplendent shopping malls and perfectly manicured golf courses lie on stolen property, and our ancestors committed near genocide in taking “our” land from the Indians. Or, “the modern equivalent of” Australia handing usurped lands back to the Aborigines. E. “Turning our backs” would merely be showing our better side - if we even have one. F. Mr. “we-are-at-war” Rumbelly, your farcical war blarney doesn’t fool anyone.
