This article covers what it refers to as "freak weather around the world," including heavy snowfall in the Bavarian and French Alps causing avalanches and a the roof of a skating rink to collapse; severe drought with towns and homes burning from numerous brushfires in "an unprecedented year for fires" in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico; widespread flooding from two major storms in northern California; "climatic extremes" and flash flooding in central Indonesia; and heavy snow and rain in earthquake stricken Pakistan.
