April 2006

Blogin Service has a new main page.  To reflect the growing popularity of BBS Radio, the Blogin main page has been changed to make reaching the radio stream easier.  Check out the changing lineup as BBS brings you engaging and entertaining shows of power, higher purpose and vibration.

Also new to Blogin is the BlogPad, check out this new place to blog.  Signing up is easy (REMEMBER to save your user name and password somewhere!) We truly hope you will take advantage of this wonderful new and robust blogger’s haven!  And all the regular Blogin links are still on the right sidebar.

A HUGE thank you to Douglas Newsom for his work Fulfilling the Blogin Mission.  Doug has been working hard to help out coding the Blogin website, and running the BBS Radio studio.  Taking time to get to know the radio hosts, answering phones, getting callers on the air, and making sure that things run smoothly, as well as hosting a weekly radio show - The Cosmic Poet -  are just a few things Doug does.  Thank you for your joyful energy and mindfulness in spreading the mission of Blogin Service!

Meditation in the mainstream

While the value of meditation has become known far beyond its origins in religious and spiritual traditions to thousands of people - especially over the past 20-30 years, meditation is far from being accepted in the mainstream of the corporate boardrooms of America. But maybe not that far...

Cleverly disguised as the how-to’s of "clear thinking, stress management or relaxation techniques, present moment awareness, or communication strategies," meditation is making a huge impact in corporate life. When corporate leadership is presented with an
effective tool for good decision making; an effort that requires clarity of thought and the ability to be mentally present, they readily accept this "rose by any other name". (Not to be confused with Bob Rose, who happens to be president of the Meditation Society
of America).

The focus of my work (and my BBS radio show) is on the critical need  for "inner work" as a balance to practical outer work in clarifying goals and enjoying truly fulfilling achievement. Without the inner work that puts us in touch with our "inner wisdom", we will repeatedly
arrive at goals, only to find that they quickly leave us empty and unfulfilled...and once again on that intuitive search for "something missing" in our lives. Meditation can put us in touch with that something missing.

The 5 Items for Global Crisis

By: Len Cranford

There are 5 items for "survival":

  1. Water clean enough to drink, 1 1/2 - 2 gallons a day per person. Difficult! If you are "on the move." OR in the cities.

  2. Food; You CAN go without food for 30 - 40 days I just about did this on a "fast" to lose weight. But in the last 30 days I became very depressed - I think my brain was starving! I lost a pound a day.

  3. Fuel to stay warm; about 4 cords of wood could get you through an average winter. That`s with the extra rooms closed off and NO heat at night - you`ll need some wool blankets. A cold house is a VERY Depressing experience so fuel is important. Warm clothes are included here - check your inventory.

  4. Taking a bath; 2 one gallon plastic [milk] jugs of warm - hot water [a substitute shower] will suffice every 4 - 5 days. Going longer than that is uncomfortable! God knows how they did it in Medieval Times!

  5. Eliminating waste; In extreme survival, Urine should be saved and put on the garden plot - Ammonia is a great fertilizer! But feces should be buried well away from living areas. The problem is the flies, fleas, rodents, mosquitos carry diseases that are potentially deadly to humans like Bubonic Plague, West Nile virus, Russian Encephilitis, and there are diseases that strike in a weakened condition like Tuberculosis, Pneumonia, Typhus - especially older people. If you see dead birds around it means the mosquitos are carrying West Nile. Fleas & rodents carry the deadly Plague - the reason bathing is important! Also a tremendous danger to the cities.
* Notice, with the power out and the water NOT running in the cities, the streets unsafe, the supplies to the grocery stores not coming in, 4 of the 5 ABOVE ITEMS could be impossible to get!
