with Jim Alger
Station 2 - Tuesdays
5:55 - 6:50 PM (PST)
8:55 - 9:50 PM (EST)
on BBS Radio
Date: February 23, 2010
It's about time we stand up to the BS of the G.O.P. Limbaugh, Hanity, Palin, Gingrich, Cantor and the rest of the far right rooting for this country to fail. Jim is a Political Consultant, Strategist, Community Organizer and father. He has held elected office, and helped others get elected. He has worked on many campaigns including local municipal elections, single issue campaigns (like stopping Wal-Mart), and Presidential Campaigns -- All with the principal that this country, and its government belong to the people. Some people want to play nice with the party of no, not Jim. They wouldn't extend that courtesy to us, why should we?
Jim has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly, and now he is here to help you make sense of it all by replacing the spin, with Common Sense.

June 12, 2009
Friday 3pm PST & 6pm EST
Common Sense with Jim Alger
airing on Station 2
Most know Mike Farrell from the ever popular TV series M*A*S*H. Fewer know that there's more to Mike Farrell than just his fame as B.J. Hunnicutt. Explore "Mike Farrell Online" and delve into the many features of Mike's life as actor, activist, writer and biker.
Mike is best known for playing Captain B.J. Hunnicutt in the ever popular series M*A*S*H. His eight years with the memorable show allowed the opportunity to both write and direct several episodes, earning him nominations for Director's Guild and Emmy Awards.
His first production experience outside of ""M*A*S*H was the CBS-TV film "Memorial Day", in which he starred opposite Shelley Fabares
Mike Farrell the activist
Long before M*A*S*H was a household word, Mike Farrell was involved in issues that were of concern to him. This involvement stems from his belief that being a responsible citizen means being willing to see conditions improve for the ultimate benefit of all.
Clearly his status as a recognized celebrity from his years with the well-loved show allow now for a larger audience, but it is as citizen rather than actor that he feels the need to be involved. The issues are largely those involving human rights and the death penalty. But Mike is also known to speak out against local injustices, animal rights, environmental issues, etc. The following three sections give a clear overview of Mike's work concerning the issues.
Human Rights
Mike's involvement with Human Rights Watch and other organizations, plus a list of his travels to many areas ravaged by famine, human rights violations and war.
The Death Penalty
Being a life-long opponent of the death penalty, Farrell has debated and spoken about this issue. An overview of his beliefs and activities.
Other issues
Animal Rights, Enviromental Issues, Rights of Children, Immigration issues, Win Without War, and lots more issues in which Farrell is actively involved. http://www.mikefarrell.org
