I propose what some call a pole shift I assume is an Earth-Crust Displacement. The best I can determine is that the roll-over event follows the solar switch-off/on. This future calamity comes in two stages. The first of which you speak is relatively benign compared to that which follows. The 2nd stage is The Catastrophe through which few can survive.
When the Black Sun switches back on things in man's world should return to normalcy fairly quickly. Underpants are bound to be in scant supply. Stock-up now. I suspect population reduction will commence prior to the Sun switching off. Whether it continues afterward I am unsure.
