Recently my daughter invited my wife and I to Christmas dinner. She asked me what I would like in the way of a dinner. My response was “a very traditional dinner, including watching the video Charlie Brown Christmas.” This is something I have not experienced in over 15 years. Our recent life style since 1994 simply did not include this type of family interaction. However, recently we have stopped RV traveling and now live in a relatively fixed location in our trailer in Brigham City Utah which is close to my children and Jill’s. My attitude towards what I really wanted surprised me as well as my wife and daughter. On reflection, Jill said, “I guess you want the fantasy”. Well I was not stuck for an answer, and my immediate response was ‘Yes, why not? Since I create my own reality I prefer a Walt Disney fantasy rather than the nightmare fantasy provided by the “Brothers Grimm” (a metaphor for the misery provided by Congress and President Bush).
I am not psychic and do not claim any special powers for predicting the future. However, you don’t have to be a psychic to figure out that we live in extremely perilous times (Brothers Grimm Fantasy: Global Warming,Constant Wars,Runaway Cost of Living,Food contamination,Global Pollution,Diseases resistant to anti biotics,self serving government, political candidates that will say anything to get elected, decay of ethics and morality, massive middle class bankruptcy, mortgage meltdown etc.). If I get caught up in the fantasy provided by our political leaders I would like to have some Walt Disney type memories that might act as a buffer to my own mental and emotional turmoil.
