Autumn Memories

Autumn memories, reflections of the past
mirrors in the mind.
The changing of the season
brings them home,
home to the heart.
We contemplate time's transitions within.
We seek to understand a past
that held in it things,
we did not know.
Things we couldn't have known
except after the lesson.
And as we embrace our new knowledge
the result of much suffering
we walk in the present
with solid footing,
our roots planted firmly in our truth
and we know our path.
