BLACKENED SHARDS

Dreams, shattering;
And blackened shards are sent scattering
to the four winds.
Who's to blame? And what cause has justice herein done,
when seeds turn black on fertile ground,
just scarred remains,
when cause and act down trod and shame;
nothing grows, but who's to blame?
A cycle ends from root to stem.
And blackened shards are sent scattering
to the four winds.
