I just got in from Paris and this show reflects that:) and more... "Open Up and Receive" is a track I wrote together with a good friend of mine Kevin Kortan www.evolutionaryyoga.com while standing on the steps of Sacre Cour, then we shift into Satie which I played as teenager in a little town in Wisconsin long before I knew anything about Paris, or Europe or ... well I did know about the yearly tractor pull. Cecilia takes you guys on over to my ancestral roots in Norway... and then - did I tell you? I discovered a new song that blew my beret away... a friend sent me "All my tomorrows" from Nancy Wilson and I listened and my jaw dropped and deeply moved, I knew why I am on this path called - singer - writer... woman....So on Monday, a brand new group out of bengal sent me two new CDS, Narayan Chandra Adhikary - performing the music of the BAULS - go google "BAULS" and stay curious and open that there are many religions co-existing in this world that touch and inspire... and then, well you will have to listen for yourselves... but in the end I circle back around and to Stay gold - and my good friend Kevin who mother was in a very bad car accident last week and moved onto the next dimension. . He is a strong, sensitive, taleented soul who has changed my life through his presence, and I knew his mom, Yvonne and she was simply one of the most beautiful warmest women I have yet to meet.
She gave and was full of grace and caregiving and love and we will all miss her.My prayers are with Kevin and his family.
So in gratitude I give you this weeks little piece of art.... thank you to everyone who is sending me their favorite poems that I read and keep in a special folder and at times pass on to MJ Hummingway for the Kite Tailor Proj. or keep to inspire me to write when the tides are out and thanks to everyone who is writing comments at itunes - and over at BBS and Global Vortex and CD BABY. e have now iMIXS up for the ESSENCE so feel free to download and share the names of the artists or show. . It helps me alot to get the word out. I am a one women show with many hats. Berets, cowboy, and - well I am a Wisconsin girl - still love that stocking cap in winter and baseball cap in the summer months.
